Bailey, Caitlin

Greetings!  My name is Caitlin Bailey and I teach 8th grade English Language Arts on the Sharks Team here at Highland Park Middle School.  Not only am I a teacher in Highland Park, but I am also the school's neighbor!

In 2000, I left Minnesota to attend Boston University where I earned a B.S. in Secondary English Education and a B.A. in English Literature.  In 2004, I started my teaching career in Boston, MA, teaching High School English.  In 2006, I came home to Minnesota.  I made the switch to 8th grade in 2008, and have been teaching 8th grade English ever since.  In 2012, I earned my M.Ed. in Literacy Education from the University of Minnesota. 

When I am not teaching, you can find me reading a great book, writing poetry and short fiction, cooking, and spending time with my family outdoors.  I love both experiencing stories and creating them - and it is my great pleasure to share that love with my students.
